Techspot Best CPU recommendation for 2019: AMD Over Intel
Techspot announced a CPU selection guide today, recommending 4 different CPUs, three of which are AMD’s, and it’s a big win.
Best All-Round Value CPU
The title was awarded to the AMD Ryzen 5 3600, a 6-core, 12-thread processor that comes with a Wraith Stealth heatsink for $200 and can handle any task the user throws, whether it is a productivity app or Game application.
Best Gaming CPU
The award was given to the Core i9-9900K, which was introduced at the end of last year to provide the strongest gaming performance so far. Although some CPUs are close to it, and others offer better price/performance, but there is still no processor that can achieve the peak performance of the i9-9900K in the game.
Best Enthusiast / Workstation CPU
This award is given to the Ryzen 9 3900X. Considering that this award is positioned as an enthusiast and workstation, there is nothing to say about this recommendation. The 12-core 24-thread and 4.6GHz acceleration frequency are really good and powerful.
Best Budget CPU
If you don’t have much money to spend on a new processor, then the Ryzen 5 2600 is also a good choice. For all users who don’t want to spend too much money on the CPU but still want a game and productivity performance, this Ryzen 5 2600 is a wise choice. It only costs $130, 28% behind the successor Ryzen 5 3600 in the Cinebench R20, but it is 35% cheaper. In terms of game performance, it only lags behind the 3600 average of 12%.
