Qualcomm Integrates 5G Networked Chips Into Mid-to-high-end Processors By The End Of The Year
After Samsung announced the launch of the Exynos 980 processor with integrated 5G networking chip, Huawei has decided to integrate the 5G network chip into the new Kirin 990 processor. Earlier in the IFA 2019 keynote speech, Qualcomm President Cristiano Amon announced that it would integrate 5G networking chips into the Snapdragon 700 series processors. It is expected that 12 OEM designs will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
Cristiano Amon did not specifically disclose the name of the new integrated 5G networked chip design processor and related product details, but it is expected that there will be more products equipped with the new integrated 5G networked processor.
At present, mobile phone brands including Samsung, LG, Sony Mobile, Xiaomi, OnePlus, OPPO, and Vivo all use Qualcomm processor products. Though Samsung and Huawei are the first to announce the introduction of processor products integrating 5G networked chips, Qualcomm will still have the strength to promote larger 5G networking applications, and even emphasize that its products have mainstream technologies for supporting 5G networks such as millimeter wave and below 6GHz spectrum.
