PlayStation 5 is finally coming? SONY will announce the details in February 2020

Sony’s first absence from the US E3 Game Show this year has made many players who are looking forward to the next generation of game consoles hope to fail. It is suspected that there is an official internal letter exposure, revealing that the new PlayStation 5 (tentative name) will be officially unveiled at the ‘PlayStation Meeting 2020’ event held on February 12 next year.

According to the US online forum 4chan and the game website NeoGAF, the official internal letter comes from the former senior marketing manager of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) studio mentioned, Sony starts to send PlayStation Meeting 2020 event invitation to Activision, Square Enix, Ubisoft, EA, etc. The expectation of announcing the new gaming console PlayStation 5 (PS5) on the day of the event, as well as two annual masterpieces, The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima.

In addition, the news also mentioned the increasing investment in the VR field, Sony has conducted extensive tests on the second-generation headset PSVR 2 prototype in the past few months and is expected to debut before October 2020.

Although the current news has not been officially confirmed, it is possible for Sony to really announce a new generation of the console in February next year. Microsoft’s next-generation Xbox console, codenamed ‘Project Scarlett’, will be launched by E3 this year. Sony’s new console may have a good chance to be launched in the same year, and it will be based on the frequency of launch of the previous generations of PS (six or seven years). PS4 released in February 2013 will be almost the time to launch a new generation of consoles until February next year.

Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 (PS5) hardware information for the first time in April this year, indicating that the new console will use AMD’s third-generation Ryzen processor, a special version of the Radeon Navi series GPU, and equipped with ultra-high-speed SSD  hard drive to increase the game loading speed. It also supports ray-tracing and 8K resolution. Next, if it is rumored to see a new generation of consoles on PlayStation Meeting 2020, I believe many players are quite looking forward to it.
