At World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai, Microsoft executive vice president Harry Shum revealed that Hololens 2 will be available for sale in September.
Hololens 2 was first released at the MWC 2019 show in February this year and is priced at $3,500. Microsoft said that this upgrade is like upgrading from 720P to 2K compared to HoloLens 1.
Moreover, the lens of HoloLens 2 adopts a movable design, which can be picked up at any time, allowing users can observe the real world environment easily. Microsoft has also improved the wearing comfort, using carbon fiber material and new wearing structure. Officials say HoloLens 2 has tripled comfort compared to previous generations, as well as those wearing glasses. HoloLens 2 supports Windows Hello and voice recognition and can be customized according to user needs, such as can be assembled with a helmet to adapt to the work environment.
As for the hardware, the HoloLens 2 is equipped with the Snapdragon 850 processor and eye-tracking sensor, using Type-C plug.
