iPhone 11 Pro uses Intel Modem which performs 20% faster than iPhone XS
PCMag conducted a Field Test on the US version of the iPhone 11 series, which showed that three new iPhones also use Intel LTE Modem. They confirmed through the iOS Field Test screen that the new iPhone is not using Qualcomm chips. However, iPhone may switch to Qualcomm next year.
The Field Test data did not disclose the Modem model of iPhone 11, but the PCMag suspected it is the Intel XMM 7660, which is also the last 4G Modem before Intel sold the Modem business to Apple.
The new Intel Modem is expected to increase the Internet speed by 20% for the iPhone 11, but the iPhone 11 will be slower than the iPhone 11 Pro because the iPhone 11 uses only 2X2 MIMO antennas while the latter uses 4X4 MIMO antennas.
