Huawei May Announce Two Kirin Processors At IFA 2019
Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong released a preview movie earlier on Weibo, suggesting that two Kirin processors will be launched, which may mean that Huawei will not only launch the Kirin 990 during IFA 2019, but also the Kirin 985 processor that was previously rumored in the market.
Prior to this, a lot of news showed that Huawei will announce the new processor Kirin 990 during IFA 2019, which is expected to use TSMC 7nm Plus EUV process technology, and adopts Arm Cortex A77 CPU architecture, and may be combined with ‘4+4’ core design. In addition, it is also expected to use an independent NPU to correspond to artificial intelligence operations.
According to related news, the Kirin 990 will increase the CPU portion by 20% compared to the Kirin 980 launched last year. At the same time, the GPU will adopt a new architecture design, and the overall power consumption is expected to be reduced by about 50%.
In addition, it is expected that Huawei’s Mate 30 series equip with Kirin 990 will be launched in the second half of the year. Huawei may also choose to announce the release time of the Mate 30 series during IFA 2019.
