Fast or slow? Netflix tests different playback speeds on Android
Users of platforms like YouTube and podcast aggregators may already be familiar with playback speed control for watching videos or making the audio program faster or slower depending on the presenters. But it looks like Netflix is keeping an eye on this feature.
An AndroidPolice reader revealed to the site that their Android app was updated and now offers a speed adjustment very similar to what we see on YouTube.
As you can see in the image below, we have a total of five options, with two slow speeds at 0.5x and 0.75x of the common speed, so we have the normal option and two faster speeds of 1.25x and 1.5x.
For now, testing has only been found in the Netflix app for Android, but if it is well accepted and widely used by users, the company may implement the news in other operating systems such as iOS, Android TV, Fire TV, Apple TV, browsers and all other platforms.
